Essex - Loaring Construction selected for $15.3 million arena.

Green Light for Loaring - With a deluge of more than $1 million in donations in the last few weeks, the Essex arena fundraising drive went over the top Sunday, guaranteeing a spring construction start with Loaring Construction..

Woodslee Credit Union's $250,000 donation for naming rights to the main spectator rink pushed total fundraising to about $1.9 million, a crowd of about 500 at a "legends" hockey game was told.  Full Story>>>
Vollmer Centre
 

The new Vollmer Recreation Centre in LaSalle Ontario is expected to open to the public in spring, 2008. Loaring Construction, along with Giffels, NORR, and Vic Davies, are part of a consortium selected to design and build the new facility.

The 25 million dollar complex, consists of a 22,000 square foot themed leisure pool, two NHL size arenas with seating for 1,000 and 300, a 4,000 square foot multi-purpose room, a 2,000 square foot seniors centre, and a 10,000 square foot fitness facility with a running/walking track.
